About Me
I'm Mike. I'm a dog trainer based in the Forest of Dean, and I work specifically with reactive dogs. The ones that bark, lunge, and pull when they see other dogs or people.
I got into this because I had a reactive dog myself. The frustration, the embarrassment, not knowing what to do. I tried everything. Different trainers, different methods, hours of googling. Some things helped a bit. Most didn't.
What actually worked was a structured, consistent approach. Not quick fixes. Just understanding what was going on for my dog and building a clear plan around it.
So that's what I built into this programme. It's the thing I wish had existed when I was struggling with it.
Sound familiar?
Every walk is basically a military operation. Scanning ahead, crossing the road, doubling back. You know the drill.
Your dog lunges, barks, pulls so hard your shoulder's killing you. And your nerves are completely shot.
You've tried the treats. The YouTube videos. Maybe even another trainer. Nothing's stuck.
There are routes you just don't do anymore. Times of day you avoid. Parks that are off limits.
People around you don't get it. "Why can't your dog just behave?" If only it were that simple.
Honestly? You feel a bit hopeless about it ever actually changing.

It doesn't have to stay like this.
The Programme
By the end, your dog will walk more calmly on a lead without pulling, barking or lunging at other dogs or people. You'll actually enjoy your walks again. And yeah, you'll be able to take them to a coffee shop or pub if you want.
This isn't a one-size-fits-all course. I work with you and your dog directly, building a plan around your specific situation.
Before we even meet, I'll get you set up with prep materials. And I'll learn about your dog's triggers, their history, what sets them off.
I come to you for an at-home assessment, then 3 in-person sessions over 3 weeks. Between each one, you get a plan to follow. Not vague advice, an actual plan.
2 small group walks where we put everything into practice. Other dogs, other people, but in a controlled way. This is where it clicks.
We jump on a call to go over your progress, talk about what's working, and map out what comes next. You won't be left hanging.
Your dog spots another dog across the path. Instead of losing it, they look at you. You walk past people without bracing yourself. You sit outside a café and your dog just... settles.
That's what we're working towards. Not perfection. Just a dog you can actually live with and enjoy.

Why trust me
I'm not going to pretend I've got hundreds of testimonials. I'm building this programme and I'm at the start. But what I do have is real experience with reactive dogs, a method that works, and a guarantee that means you've got nothing to lose.
Do the sessions, do the homework. If your dog's top 3 behaviours haven't improved, I'll give you 2 free 1:1s. Still not happy? Full refund.
I'm a qualified dog trainer with hands-on experience specifically with reactive dogs. This isn't a side project. It's what I do.
I keep it small because this programme needs my full attention. You're not a number on a spreadsheet.
A different approach
One-off sessions with zero follow-up
Group classes where your dog's already overwhelmed before you've even started
Advice that sounds great in theory but falls apart the second you're on a real walk
Being told to "just avoid triggers" forever
Trainers who don't actually specialise in reactivity
6 weeks, structured, with milestones you can actually see
1:1 sessions built around your dog's specific triggers
Small group walks to practise with real dogs around
A plan you follow between sessions (not just "try this and see")
WhatsApp access to me for the full 6 weeks
Is this right for you?
Your dog kicks off at other dogs or people on walks. Pulling, barking, lunging.
You're up for putting in 15-20 mins a day between sessions
You want an actual plan, not just tips you'll forget by Thursday
You're within about 30 minutes of the Forest of Dean
You can commit to 6 weeks of showing up and doing the work
You want a quick fix (there isn't one, sorry)
You want me to train your dog without you being involved
Your dog has a serious bite history (get in touch though, I might be able to help separately)
You can't make it to all the sessions
You're shopping around for the cheapest option
What you won't need
No more hours down a YouTube rabbit hole, ending up more confused than when you started
No prong collars, e-collars, or anything aversive
No endlessly shoving treats in your dog's face and crossing your fingers
No avoiding every dog, person, and park for the rest of time
No expensive gadgets you don't understand
No more feeling like you're failing your dog on every single walk
The difference
Planning every walk around avoiding other dogs
That sinking feeling when you spot another dog on the horizon
The embarrassment when your dog kicks off in front of everyone
Never being able to just relax on a walk, or sit outside a pub
Watching other people walk their dogs like it's nothing and wondering what you're doing wrong

Walking past other dogs and your heart rate stays normal
Actually looking forward to your morning walk
Sitting outside a café with your dog settled at your feet
Knowing what to do when things get tricky, instead of panicking
A clear plan to keep things going after the 6 weeks are done
The numbers
No waffle. Just the details.
Structured timeline with clear milestones each week
In-person, tailored to you and your dog
Small groups, real situations, controlled environment
Kept small so every dog gets my full attention

In action
Every session is hands-on, in real places. The streets, paths, and parks where your dog actually needs to behave. Not a sterile training room where everything's easy.
You'll learn what to do, when to do it, and why it works. So when the programme's done, you can handle things yourself.
Bonuses
These are worth a few hundred quid on their own, but they come free with the programme.
You can message me across the full 6 weeks. Got a question at 9pm? Setback on a walk? I'm there.
I'll sort you out with the right equipment to get going. No more guessing which lead or harness to buy.
Jump into my weekly Q&A if anything comes up between our sessions. No question is too small.
Lifetime access. Connect with other owners who actually get it. Share wins, ask questions, support each other.
Turn up to all the sessions. Do the homework. If your dog's top 3 behaviours (which we agree on together) haven't noticeably improved:
I'll give you 2 free 1:1 sessions to sort out whatever's left.
Still not happy? Full refund. Simple as that.
I can offer this because the programme works. If you put the effort in, you'll see results.
Questions
Any breed. Reactivity isn't a breed thing, it's a behaviour. I've worked with everything from Chihuahuas to German Shepherds. The programme gets tailored to your dog, whatever they are.
About 15-20 minutes a day for the exercises I set. It's not massive, but you do need to be consistent. I'll tell you exactly what to do each day so there's no guesswork.
That's exactly who this is for. We start 1:1, just you, me, and your dog. The group walks don't happen until later, and they're carefully managed with dogs at a similar stage. We build up to it.
The right lead, harness, and a few other bits I recommend. I've seen too many people using kit that actually makes reactivity worse, so I want you set up properly from day one.
Attend all sessions and do the homework. If your dog's top 3 problem behaviours (which we agree on together in the assessment) haven't noticeably improved, I'll give you 2 free 1:1 sessions. Still not happy after that? Full refund.
Most reactive dog training is either one-off sessions with no follow-up, or group classes where your dog is already over threshold before you've walked through the door. This is 6 weeks, 1:1 attention, a plan between sessions, WhatsApp support, and group walks only when your dog is ready. The structure is what makes it work.
Yeah, let's talk about it on the call. I want this to be accessible, so I'm happy to work something out.
